FAQs

Everything you need to know.

From challenge rules and account conditions to payouts and trading requirements, find clear answers to the questions that matter most before you get funded.
Getting Started
What is 101Funded?
101Funded is a proprietary trading firm. We evaluate traders in a simulated environment and allocate simulated capital to those who prove they can manage risk and trade profitably. Once funded, you keep a share of the profit you generate. We are not a broker, we do not accept deposits, and no client money is ever at risk.
How do I get started?
Create an account, choose your challenge model and account size, and complete checkout. Your login credentials are emailed to you within 5 minutes, and you can begin trading straight away.
Who can join?
Anyone aged 18 or over can trade with 101Funded. We cannot offer our services to residents of countries subject to FATF, OFAC or EU/UN sanctions. If you are unsure whether your country is eligible, contact support before purchasing.
Do I need trading experience?
No formal experience or qualifications are required. The evaluation is the only test — if you can meet the objectives while respecting the risk limits, you get funded.
Is 101Funded a broker? Do you hold my deposits?
No. All trading takes place in a simulated environment using virtual funds. Your challenge fee is a one-time service fee covering platform access, live market data, risk monitoring and support. It is not a deposit and is not held on your behalf.
Where are you based and how do I contact you?
101Funded is based and registered in Malta. Our support team is available 24/7 via live chat, and by email at support@101funded.com. We aim to respond to all tickets within 12 hours.
Evaluation & Challenge Models
What challenge models do you offer?
We offer both one-phase and two-phase evaluation across account sizes from $10,000 to $200,000.
Is the drawdown static or trailing?
Static. Your maximum loss level is calculated once from your starting balance and never moves. On a $100,000 account, your floor is $90,000 for the life of the account, whether your equity is at $95,000 or $130,000.

We use static drawdown deliberately. Trailing drawdown ratchets upward as your equity grows, which means a profitable trader can be breached on a normal pullback. That isn't a fair test of skill.
How is the daily loss limit calculated?
Your daily loss limit is x% (depending on the challenge) of your starting balance for that trading day, measured against equity. This means open positions count — a floating loss can breach the limit even if you have not closed the trade.

The daily limit resets at 00:00 server time (GMT+2).
Is there a time limit?
No. There is no expiry date on any phase. Trade at your own pace and build a track record without an artificial deadline forcing you into trades you would not otherwise take.
What counts as a trading day?
Any day on which you open or close at least one position. There is no minimum profit or volume requirement for a day to count.
Is there a minimum number of trading days?
Three per phase, and three per payout cycle once funded. They do not need to be consecutive.
What is the difference between balance and equity?
Your balance is the value of your account excluding open positions. Your equity is your balance plus or minus the floating profit and loss on any open trades.

Both the daily and maximum loss limits are measured against equity, not balance. An open position running against you counts towards your limits in real time.
What happens when I pass?
Your full trading history is reviewed by our risk team, usually within 24 hours. Once approved, you complete identity verification and sign your trader agreement, and your funded credentials are issued within one business day.
Trading Rules
Is a stop loss mandatory?
No. We strongly recommend using one, but we do not require it and you will not be penalised for trading without one. Your daily and maximum loss limits apply regardless.
Can I trade the news?
No, on all accounts and in all phases. There are no restricted instruments or blackout periods around economic releases. News trading is defined by: a trade opened or closed within 5 minutes either side of a high-impact news event.
Can I hold trades over the weekend?
Yes, on every account type. There are no weekend closure requirements and no add-on to purchase.
Do I have to close positions overnight?
No. You can hold positions overnight and across the weekend without restriction. Swap charges apply as normal.
Can I trade the weekend gap?
Yes. Holding a position into the weekend close and through the Monday open is permitted.
Is hedging allowed?
Within a single account, yes — you can hold opposing positions on the same instrument.

Hedging across accounts is prohibited. This includes hedging between two of your own 101Funded accounts, between your account and another trader's, and between a 101Funded account and an account at another firm.
Because the outcome is guaranteed regardless of market direction, it isn't trading, and detection results in closure of all accounts involved and forfeiture of any pending payout.
Can I use Expert Advisors (EAs)?
Yes. You can run your own automated strategies on any account without pre-approval.

You may not use high-frequency trading systems, latency or arbitrage bots, or commercially sold EAs marketed as tools for passing prop firm evaluations. If we have reason to believe an EA falls into the last category, we may ask you to demonstrate that the strategy is your own.
Can I use trading signals or copy trading?
During the evaluation phases, no. The evaluation is a test of your trading, so trades must be your own decisions.

Once funded, you can copy trades between your own 101Funded accounts. Copying from a third-party signal service, or from another trader, remains prohibited at every stage.
Do you have a consistency rule?
No.
Is there a minimum trade duration?
Positions must stay open for at least two minutes. Trades closed faster than this are excluded from your results and, if repeated, may be treated as a prohibited practice.
What instruments can I trade?
Forex, indices, commodities, metals and cryptocurrencies.
Are there restrictions on lot size or number of open positions?
There is no cap on the number of open positions or on lot size, provided you stay within your loss limits and the maximum risk rules below.
Is there a maximum risk per trade?
No single position may use more than 80% of your available margin. This prevents all-or-nothing trades that risk an entire account on one outcome.
What are the trading hours?
Markets are available during their standard session hours, shown in server time (GMT+2). Instruments close at their usual weekly close on Friday evening and reopen on Sunday evening.
Is there an inactivity limit?
Accounts with no trading activity for 30 consecutive days may be closed.
Prohibited Practices & Violations
What counts as a prohibited trading practice?

The following are prohibited on all accounts:

  • Latency arbitrage, reverse arbitrage and any strategy exploiting delays in the pricing feed
  • Exploiting platform errors, pricing errors or execution bugs
  • Tick scalping and any strategy relying on trades held for less than the minimum duration
  • Front-running, and trading on insider or non-public information
  • Hedging across accounts, as described above
  • Using third-party or commercially sold strategies marketed for passing evaluations
  • Duplicating trades or trade ideas between accounts, whether your own or another trader's
  • Coordinated trading between multiple traders acting as a group
  • Any strategy that profits from the simulated environment rather than from genuine market movement
What happens if I break a rule?
We distinguish between two kinds of breach.

A hard breach — exceeding your daily loss limit or maximum loss limit — closes the account immediately. This is automatic and cannot be reversed.

Prohibited trading practices are treated separately. Where we find deliberate exploitation, the account is closed, any pending payout is forfeited, and the challenge fee is not refunded.
Can I use a VPN or VPS?
A VPS is fine, and it is the normal way to run an EA reliably. Let support know the IP so it can be whitelisted on your account.

A VPN is permitted for privacy and while travelling, but we monitor access locations, and a VPN that makes your account appear to be traded from several countries in a short period will trigger a review.
What is your IP address policy?
Your account must be traded by you. We monitor the IP addresses used to access and trade accounts, and multiple accounts consistently traded from the same address will be reviewed.

Being flagged is not the same as being breached. In most cases a review is resolved by a short conversation with support.
Can two people in the same household use 101Funded?
Yes. Family members and housemates can each hold their own accounts, and a shared network is not a problem on its own.
Can someone else trade my account?
No. Your account must be operated by you alone. Sharing your credentials, using an account management service, or paying a third party to pass a challenge on your behalf will result in closure of the account and a permanent ban, with no refund.
How do I appeal a decision?
Email support@101funded.com within 14 days of the decision, with your account number and a short explanation. Appeals are reviewed by a senior risk analyst who was not involved in the original decision, and you will get a written answer within five business days.

If you disagree with the outcome, you can ask once for a final review by our Head of Risk.
Platforms & Technical
Which platforms can I use?
MetaTrader 5 and cTrader. You choose your platform at checkout, and both are available on desktop, web and mobile.
How do I log in?
Your credentials — login, password and server name — are emailed to you when your account is created and are always available in your dashboard.

On MetaTrader 5, open File, then Login to Trade Account, enter the server name exactly as shown in your dashboard, and enter your login and password. On cTrader, select 101Funded from the broker list on the login screen and enter the same credentials.
Can I change my platform or account type after purchase?
Yes, once per account and free of charge, provided you have not yet placed a trade. After trading has started, a platform change requires a reset.
What are the account specifications?
Spreads start from 0.6 pips on major forex pairs. Commission is $3.50 per lot per side on forex and metals, and zero on indices and cryptocurrencies. Swaps are applied at standard rates and are shown per instrument on the symbols page.
Do you offer swap-free accounts?
Yes, on request, for traders who require them for religious reasons. Contact support with your account number and we will convert it within one business day. Swap-free accounts carry an administration fee on positions held longer than seven days.
Why did my order fill at a different price than expected?
This is slippage, and it happens when the price moves between the moment you send an order and the moment it is executed. It is most common around news releases, at market open, and on instruments with thin liquidity. Slippage can work in your favour as well as against you, and it is a normal feature of live pricing rather than a platform fault.
I did not receive my login credentials.
Check your spam folder first, since automated emails often land there. Your credentials are also always visible in your dashboard under Accounts. If you still cannot access them, contact support with your order number.
My account balance is not updating in the dashboard.
Dashboard statistics refresh every 15 minutes, so a recently closed trade may not appear immediately. Your platform is always the live source of truth. If figures still disagree after an hour, send support a screenshot and your account number.
Funded Accounts & Payouts
How much of the profit do I keep?
You keep 80% of the profit you generate from your first funded day. You can raise it to 100% through the profit split add-on. There are no deductions beyond your profit share.
When is my first payout available?
Fourteen days after your first funded trade, provided you have traded on at least three days in that period. After that, you can request a payout every 14 days.
How do I request a payout?
Submit a request from your dashboard. Requests are reviewed within 24 hours, and approved payouts are sent within one business day. Most traders have funds within 24 to 48 hours of requesting.
What payout methods are available?
Bank transfer, cryptocurrency (USDT, USDC or BTC), and Rise. You select your method when you make your first request, and you can change it at any time.
Is there a minimum payout amount?
Yes, $100. Requests below this are not processed.
Is there a daily profit cap?
No. You can make as much as you like on any given day. The consistency rule governs how profit is distributed across a payout period, but nothing caps a single day's earnings.
Are there fees on payouts?
No. We do not charge a fee for withdrawals. Bank transfers may incur intermediary or receiving-bank fees outside our control, and cryptocurrency withdrawals carry the network fee for the chain you select.
Can I keep trading after a payout?
Yes, and your account stays open on the same terms.

After a payout, your balance is reduced by the amount withdrawn, and your maximum loss level is recalculated from the new balance. If you started at $100,000 with a $90,000 floor, made $8,000 and withdrew your share, your balance and your floor both adjust accordingly. Your dashboard always shows your current floor.
Can I withdraw profits during the evaluation phase?
No. Profits generated during Phase 1 and Phase 2 are simulated and cannot be withdrawn. Payouts begin once you are funded.
Do I need to verify my identity before a payout?
Yes. Before your first payout is released, you need to complete identity verification: a government-issued photo ID and a proof of address dated within the last three months. Verification usually completes within a few hours and only has to be done once.
Am I responsible for taxes on my payouts?
Yes. You are responsible for declaring and paying any tax due in your country of residence. We do not withhold tax, and we cannot give tax advice. If you are unsure how payouts should be treated, speak to a qualified accountant in your jurisdiction.
What is the legal relationship between me and 101Funded?
When you pass, you sign a trader agreement that appoints you to trade a simulated account on our behalf. You are an independent contractor, not an employee. You have no liability for losses, and you are entitled to your agreed share of profits generated under the agreement. The full terms are in the agreement itself, which you can read before signing.
Orders & Billing
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, and cryptocurrency including USDT, USDC, BTC and ETH.
Why is there a fee?
The fee covers the real cost of running your evaluation: platform licences, live market data, execution infrastructure, risk monitoring and support. It is a one-time charge, not a deposit and not an investment.
Is the fee refundable?
Yes. Your full challenge fee is returned to you with your first payout, on top of your profit share.
Are there recurring or hidden fees?
No. The challenge fee is a single payment. There is no subscription, no monthly charge, no data fee and no withdrawal fee. The only optional cost is a reset, which you choose to buy or not.
I paid but have not received my account.
Accounts are usually delivered within 5 minutes. Card payments occasionally take longer if additional verification is required, and cryptocurrency payments wait for network confirmation. If nothing has arrived within an hour, contact support with your order number.
Can I pay with someone else's card?
No. The payment method must belong to the account holder. This is an anti-money-laundering requirement and applies without exception. Payments from a third party will be refunded and the order cancelled.
Can I get a refund?
You can request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided you have not placed a trade. Once trading has begun, the fee is non-refundable — but it is returned to you in full with your first payout.
Do you offer discounts or promotions?
We run promotions regularly, announced through our newsletter and Discord. One discount code can be applied per order, and codes cannot be combined.
Account & Security
How do I change my email address or password?
Both can be changed under Settings in your dashboard. A change of email requires confirmation from both the old and new address for security.
Can I have more than one dashboard account?
No. One person may hold one dashboard account, which can contain multiple trading accounts. Duplicate registrations will be merged or closed.
How do I close my account?
Email support@101funded.com from your registered address. Any approved payout is processed before closure. Closing your account ends any active challenges without refund.
How is my personal data handled?
Your data is processed in line with our privacy policy at [privacy policy link]. We do not sell personal data. Verification documents are held securely and retained only as long as required for anti-money-laundering compliance.
